PRESENTS
A WALK IN SUPPORT OF ST.STEPHEN-IN-THE-FIELDS
We are delighted to offer our popular hour-and-a-half tour of historic Kensington Market – Layers of Kensington – with all proceeds going to the window restoration fund at St. Stephen’s. One of the oldest and most distinctive churches in the city, St. Stephen’s contains windows created by three Toronto firms: Robert McCausland Limited, Dominion Stained Glass, and N.T. Lyon Studio. The windows are now in a dangerously fragile state. A grant from the City will provide half the necessary funds but the gift depends on raising the second half. Kensington Market Historical Society recognizes the importance of St. Stephen’s as a visual gateway to the market, as one of its most architecturally significant buildings, and as a place that welcomes all members of our diverse community.
Please join us on October 20 at 1:00 pm. We will meet at the church and tour the premises with the Rev. Maggie Helwig before heading off into the Market with veteran tour guides Bruce Beaton and Cyrel Troster. Expect to learn some things you never knew about Kensington! We’ll end at Maison Close on Kensington Avenue for snacks, drinks and conversation.

WHEN: Saturday, October 20, 1:00 pm
